Support
How can we help?
Pairbar is made by one person. Email is the way to reach them, and you’ll usually get a reply within 2 business days.
Something isn’t working
Start with Troubleshooting: it covers the sidebar not appearing, missing chats, live status, window layouts, licence messages and more. Missing chats have their own step-by-step guide. Make sure you have the latest version too (menu-bar icon → Check for Updates…).
Still stuck? Use Contact support… in the app (it fills in the versions we need) or email support@pairbar.com.
Known issues
- An update to Claude or Codex can break a feature. Pairbar reads what the Claude and Codex apps keep on your Mac, and those apps change often. After one of them updates, a feature may stop working until a Pairbar update adapts to it. Check the changelog, and tell us if you notice it first.
- Codex's own sidebar stays hidden after a crash. If Pairbar quit unexpectedly while docked and Codex was restarted meanwhile, press ⌘B in Codex (View → Toggle Sidebar) to bring its sidebar back.
- Stage Manager may move a window. With Stage Manager on, a window layout can move one window into its own stage.
- Search inside conversations finds nothing at first. The text cache builds in the background shortly after launch. Try again in a moment.
- A build made from source can't update itself. Only the downloaded app has the update feed. Download it from this site.
Refunds
Ask within 14 days of your first payment, for any plan, and you get it back in full, no questions asked; a renewal within 7 days if you haven’t used Pairbar since. Email support@pairbar.com with the email you bought with or your order number. The refund policy has the details.
Find my licence key
Your key is in the receipt email from Lemon Squeezy (search your mail for “Pairbar” or “Lemon Squeezy”).
Can’t find it? Open Lemon Squeezy’s My Orders and sign in with the email you bought Pairbar with: every order there shows its licence key, and you can manage or cancel a subscription. Or skip the key: on Pairbar’s lock screen or in Settings → Licence choose Use my email, or ask on the activation page, and we email a link that activates Pairbar on your Mac. Still nothing? Email support@pairbar.com.
Activate it
Paste the key on Pairbar’s lock screen, or in Settings → Licence during the trial, and press Activate. Everything you set up during the trial is still there.
Subscription ended? Use Renew on the lock screen or in Settings → Licence; once it’s paid, press Renewed? Check again. Manage subscription… in Settings → Licence opens your Lemon Squeezy account to update the card or cancel.
Move to another Mac
Your licence works on up to 3 of your own Macs. To move it, open Pairbar on the old Mac and choose Settings → Licence → Deactivate this Mac…, then activate it on the new one. Lost the old Mac? Email us and we’ll free its activation.
If activation doesn’t work
| Pairbar says | What to do |
|---|---|
| “That licence key wasn't found” | Copy the whole key from the receipt email. |
| “That key is for … not Pairbar” | It's a key for another product. |
| “This key is already active on 3 Macs” | Deactivate it on a Mac you no longer use (Settings → Licence → Deactivate this Mac…), then try again. |
| “That licence key has been disabled” | The order was refunded or the key was disabled. Contact support. |
| “Couldn't reach the licence server” | Check your internet connection and try again. |
Offline or travelling?
About once a week Pairbar checks the key with Lemon Squeezy. If it can’t, nothing happens for a while: a subscription locks only if the check keeps failing for 14 days after it was due, and unlocks by itself once you’re back online. A Lifetime licence that can’t be checked keeps working.
Report a security issue
Please report it privately to security@pairbar.com, not in public, with what you found and how to reproduce it. In scope: anything that makes Pairbar read, write or run something you didn’t ask for, data leaving your Mac, the update mechanism, and pairbar.com’s activation service. We’ll reply as soon as we can.
